Let’s talk about Fiverr

Hey! Welcome to my blog journal. Today I am sharing with you my experience with the program Fiverr.

Forever Written uses affiliate links to earn a small commission when you make a purchase through my site. Every little penny helps. You can learn more here.

What is Fiverr?

Fiverr is an online program where you can find and hire someone to help you get more done with your business.

If you own a flower shop, and need help creating business cards, you can hire a graphic design freelancer to help you create the cards of your dreams. Or if you have a YouTube channel, you can hire someone to help you edit your videos.

The Concept

When first going to Fiverr, I was very impressed at how diverse the program is. They have any and every category you can think of. From graphic design, to freelance writing, to even finding a personal stylists. It is very easy to navigate through to locate the best gig for you.

Once you find the category you want, there are many sub categories to break down even more exactly what you may be looking for. So for example, under Music and Audio, you can find some sub categories such as: Voice over, Online Music Lessons, or Podcast editing. Then once you click on the sub category for instance “Voice over”, a list of freelancers will pop up showcasing how they can help you put voice overs onto your videos.

In each gig, the freelancer details exactly how and what they can do to help you. Videos and images are there to give you a visual of their work and experience. They also set different price points (yes some are more than $5) based off of the amount of work needed to be done. You can also see their ratings and comments from other businesses who have used their services in the past. There are also filters at the top of each sub category, so you can only view what’s best for you.

When you have found the gig and freelancer you want to work with, you simply select the price point best for you, follow and provide any qualifications needed from the freelancer to begin working on your project, and once completed, the freelancer will reach out to you for confirmation and if any further information is needed. Please note that you are not charged for the gig until you approve the work completed by the freelancer.

Sounds complicated? It’s not! As long as communication is made on both parties, it is a very smooth process.

As a Freelancer

As a freelancer for Fiverr, I’ve experienced a lot of different types of businesses and how vast the world really is.

When becoming a freelancer, the process is fairly easy by just signing up and entering in details about yourself and what you have to offer. Then you get started on creating your gigs. Once you have your gigs created, just promote and begin working on help businesses succeed.

Being a freelancer, I like the fact that I was able to create up to 7 gigs using different categories as I saw fit. One gig can be on your graphic design skills, while another can illustrate how awesome you are at being a virtual assistant. I also enjoyed how thorough you have to be in explaining why someone should choose your gig. Can’t just say, “I know how to draw, hire me”, you have to put some meaning and details behind your work.

Another thing I enjoy being a freelancer on Fiverr is that I can set my own rates of what I feel is best. Being that it is in it’s name, every gig starts off at $5, but you can adjust it to whatever price point suits you best even up to $100 or more. You can also negotiate and create an offer template that would work for you and the client so it’s a win win for everyone.

Once you are all set up, you have your own profile where you can view all of your gigs and its stats and the ratings you have received. There is also a place where you can take tests and receive badges to showcase all that you know and have experience in. The tests are optional, but is a good thing to have on your profile.

Getting Paid

So let’s say you connected with a client and have completed the gig. Once the client approves your work, you will receive your pay (minus the fee from Fiverr), into a waiting bucket. Fiverr’s fee can vary upon the price point. I suggest setting the gigs that require a lot of time and work at a higher price so your fee won’t take much of your money away. For example, one of my gigs, I set the price point to $10 and received an available balance of $8.

The waiting bucket time varies by what level you are on as a seller. The higher level you are, the less time your pay is in the waiting bucket. The longest time the pay is in the waiting bucket is approximately 2 weeks. From there, it will move to the available bucket where you can cash out, and is then transferred to either your PayPal account, a Fiverr Revenue card, or via direct deposit which is very convenient. Payment is then deposited into the payment method of your choice right away. No more waiting.

In the end

In the end, I highly recommend using Fiverr to either expand your freelancing skills or to hire some help to keep your business running smoothly. It is overall a good program to get things done.

6 things that makes me happy

So what makes me happy? It doesn’t take a lot to make me happy because I appreciate anything given to me so lets begin.

Music 🎧🎼

When I listen to music, I feel like all my problems are gone and I am free. I am a millennial so yes I do tend to put my music louder than needed but I feel like I have to. It creates a more amazing experience. There is no particular song or genre that gets me hyped, I just turn on my Pandora radio and jam out like no one is watching.

Movies 🎬🎞

When I tell you I LOVE watching movies. I have a lot of favorite movies but the ones I can always rewatch are any Marvel movies and Transformers movies. They will never get old for me. My family hates movie nights because we try to find a movie that no one has even and every list or genre Ive seen most of those movies. I get asked all the time why I love movies so much and honestly I do not know. I guess because they give me so much peace and puts me at ease after a long day. Plus I do not like commercials unless it is a TV show. Watching movies with commercials are so frustrating to me especially if it a new movies I’ve never seen. I want to know what happens next not wait after 30 commercials lol. I guess that’s why I do not like watching so many tv shows (unless its Spongebob) until the have all aired and I can binge watch.

Dogs 🐶

I love doggies especially the little small ankle biters lol. It is so weird because when I was younger I was so scared of dogs but I having family members with dogs around me made it easier to overcome my fear and love dogs now.

Food 🍕🍟🍗🍦

Haha, who doesn’t love food like come on. When I eat I start doing my happy dance especially if it is something I’ve been craving for a while. My favorites are hot wings, fruit, ice cream, pastries, salad, and fries. Lol, yes I know a lot of favorites and all different but I definitely enjoy them.

Video games 🎮

It may sound weird to some, but yes I love video games and I’m a girl. I not a full on gamer girl, but I do not mind playing a game every now and then. That probably came from me frowning up with mostly boys around me. I like playing the good ol’ Mario Kart of course, killing zombies or weird creatures, racing games , and ill dab a little into basketball. And I cannot forget the little games we all play on our phones to pass time.

My Mommy 👩🏽‍🦱

Oh mommy. My mother is the most sweetest, calmest, understanding person in the world. She sees the good in everybody and every situation. I wish I had some of that in me. Whenever I am in a bad mood and need some up lifting, I go right to my mother and can tell her any and everything without her judging me, plus putting a huge smile on my face in the end. I love my mommy 🙂
