Let’s talk about Fiverr

Hey! Welcome to my blog journal. Today I am sharing with you my experience with the program Fiverr.

Forever Written uses affiliate links to earn a small commission when you make a purchase through my site. Every little penny helps. You can learn more here.

What is Fiverr?

Fiverr is an online program where you can find and hire someone to help you get more done with your business.

If you own a flower shop, and need help creating business cards, you can hire a graphic design freelancer to help you create the cards of your dreams. Or if you have a YouTube channel, you can hire someone to help you edit your videos.

The Concept

When first going to Fiverr, I was very impressed at how diverse the program is. They have any and every category you can think of. From graphic design, to freelance writing, to even finding a personal stylists. It is very easy to navigate through to locate the best gig for you.

Once you find the category you want, there are many sub categories to break down even more exactly what you may be looking for. So for example, under Music and Audio, you can find some sub categories such as: Voice over, Online Music Lessons, or Podcast editing. Then once you click on the sub category for instance “Voice over”, a list of freelancers will pop up showcasing how they can help you put voice overs onto your videos.

In each gig, the freelancer details exactly how and what they can do to help you. Videos and images are there to give you a visual of their work and experience. They also set different price points (yes some are more than $5) based off of the amount of work needed to be done. You can also see their ratings and comments from other businesses who have used their services in the past. There are also filters at the top of each sub category, so you can only view what’s best for you.

When you have found the gig and freelancer you want to work with, you simply select the price point best for you, follow and provide any qualifications needed from the freelancer to begin working on your project, and once completed, the freelancer will reach out to you for confirmation and if any further information is needed. Please note that you are not charged for the gig until you approve the work completed by the freelancer.

Sounds complicated? It’s not! As long as communication is made on both parties, it is a very smooth process.

As a Freelancer

As a freelancer for Fiverr, I’ve experienced a lot of different types of businesses and how vast the world really is.

When becoming a freelancer, the process is fairly easy by just signing up and entering in details about yourself and what you have to offer. Then you get started on creating your gigs. Once you have your gigs created, just promote and begin working on help businesses succeed.

Being a freelancer, I like the fact that I was able to create up to 7 gigs using different categories as I saw fit. One gig can be on your graphic design skills, while another can illustrate how awesome you are at being a virtual assistant. I also enjoyed how thorough you have to be in explaining why someone should choose your gig. Can’t just say, “I know how to draw, hire me”, you have to put some meaning and details behind your work.

Another thing I enjoy being a freelancer on Fiverr is that I can set my own rates of what I feel is best. Being that it is in it’s name, every gig starts off at $5, but you can adjust it to whatever price point suits you best even up to $100 or more. You can also negotiate and create an offer template that would work for you and the client so it’s a win win for everyone.

Once you are all set up, you have your own profile where you can view all of your gigs and its stats and the ratings you have received. There is also a place where you can take tests and receive badges to showcase all that you know and have experience in. The tests are optional, but is a good thing to have on your profile.

Getting Paid

So let’s say you connected with a client and have completed the gig. Once the client approves your work, you will receive your pay (minus the fee from Fiverr), into a waiting bucket. Fiverr’s fee can vary upon the price point. I suggest setting the gigs that require a lot of time and work at a higher price so your fee won’t take much of your money away. For example, one of my gigs, I set the price point to $10 and received an available balance of $8.

The waiting bucket time varies by what level you are on as a seller. The higher level you are, the less time your pay is in the waiting bucket. The longest time the pay is in the waiting bucket is approximately 2 weeks. From there, it will move to the available bucket where you can cash out, and is then transferred to either your PayPal account, a Fiverr Revenue card, or via direct deposit which is very convenient. Payment is then deposited into the payment method of your choice right away. No more waiting.

In the end

In the end, I highly recommend using Fiverr to either expand your freelancing skills or to hire some help to keep your business running smoothly. It is overall a good program to get things done.

3 words that describes me

Who am I? What makes me unique? What makes me different? I mean, I know I’m a special person to some, but does it qualify me as being “unique”? Today, I am in good spirits, so lets write about what makes me, me.

Introvert

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio on Pexels.com

According to Oxford Languages, an introvert is “a shy, reticent person”. I am a huge introvert. I wouldn’t say I’m necessarily shy but I prefer to stay to myself and not be bothered. I am just as content being alone. It is my most happy place, besides being with my mom. Give me a quiet, dark room, with a good movie and some snacks and yeah I’m set. Won’t see me unless I need some more snacks. I also like quiet. I think that comes from my different situations having to share my space with multiple people. I am never able to get time by myself unless I leave the house and go stay at a hotel. But who has money to be doing that often. Most of my family knows that I am a quiet person but also think I am mean and rude when I don’t make conversation and engage when they are playing a game or watching a movie. First, I have nothing to say to you at that moment and I either do not want to play the game or already seen the movie. Sorry not Sorry.

Supportive

Photo by Anna Shvets on Pexels.com

As we all know by now, I love to help people succeed and get to the next level. Friends, family, co-workers, I do not care, I will support you in the fullest. Being able to be that resource and guide them in the right direction to their dreams. It puts a smile on my face to see them smile. I often get called their personal therapist, giving them the advice to get them to that next step, next level. I knew I should have studied psychology in college.

Honest/Real

Cool monkey

Even though I am a quiet person, and don’t really talk to too many people, when I do my answers and conversation is as honest as ever. I will tell you like it is especially if you ask for my opinion. I do not sugarcoat or hold back. I think that’s why I lost a lot of friends. So glad my best friends knows me and understand my personality because I am the captain of saying no. Like I said, I prefer to be home in my own bubble. Now don’t get me wrong, I do go out, however I can’t do it all the time especially if it is to nowhere important or fun. My social meter can only take but so much.

Should a man have to pay for every date?

Photo by Evelina Zhu on Pexels.com

I know I might get some backlash for this but in my opinion, I do not believe a man should have to pay for EVERY single date. In the beginning, yes he should be a gentleman and take care of the first few dates. However, I feel like if you are well into your relationship, the woman could pick up the tab or at least half of it. Take the pressure off of your man for once and spoil him. Now most men don’t mind paying for the tab, and sometimes get offended when their woman wants to pay, which is a great thing, but every once in a while won’t hurt especially if the bill is only a couple of dollars. I would love to take my man out on a date, let him order anything he wants, and say “no babe, I have got it this time. My treat” I know he may not like it, but it will put a smile on his face in the end because it’s the little things that counts.

Pet Peeves

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio on Pexels.com

Pet Peeves. According to Oxford Languages, “pet peeves is something that a particular finds annoying”. Boy do I have a lot of things that annoy me, but today I am going to tell you all about my top 3. First up. Snoring.

Snoring

I cannot stand someone who snores. When I go to sleep, I just want to lay down, in some peace and quiet, not in a loud voice sounding like a bear. I don’t know why, but it just irritates me. Makes me cringe and lay there awake staring at the ceiling or the wall. Mind you that the person is in another room and I can still hear it! That’s crazy lol. No snoring for me. Reason is because I like peace and quiet since I can’t get it during the day and if I can’t get it at night either, WOW. Just WOW!

Chewing too loud

Why do people have to chew their food so loud that someone in another country can hear it?! Oh, that is so annoying. Close your mouth! Nobody wants to see and hear how your teeth chew your food. I understand the food may be good, but I don’t want to hear the goodness. Keep that to yourself. Reason is because I find that to be very disgusting. I literally stare at the person until we make eye contact lol.  What’s the reason you want everyone to know you are eating?

Touching my things without my permission

OMG! Do not touch my things without my permission. That pisses me off to the max. Especially since I would never touch someone’s things without their permission. I feel like it would be reciprocated, but I guess not. Reason this irritates me so much is because, once before my old laptop was being used without me knowing and when I got home from work, it was broken and nobody knew what happened or how. Really?! Nobody knows what happened. Before I left, it was in great standing, now the keys are missing, and the screen is half black. SMH. Don’t touch my things. Simple.

What am I afraid of?

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio on Pexels.com

This is one of those questions where you can think of it on a more deep level or right on the surface level. For me, most of my fears do not come from the physical level, but from something deeper. Comment below if you can relate to any of these or what your fears are

I’m going to start with a surface level fear which is Reptiles. Any reptile for that matter, especially lizards. I just think they are extremely slimy looking, and just ugh gives me the creeps. Another would be a snake. I’ve never had a close encounter with a snake, however, if I did, I would just give up lol. No way im fighting my way out.

Something else I am afraid of is Cats. Yeah, I know this may sound silly, but I truly am afraid of cats. It’s like you never know when and how to approach them, and they attack for any reason. They scratch you for whatever reason, they knock stuff off the table for whatever reason, they are just rude. People say maybe I’ve had some bad experiences with cats and they all aren’t like that but until I see that as proof, I am not a cat person. (Dogs rule)

This is where things get deep. Another thing I am afraid of is not living or succeeding to my full potential. And no I don’t mean failure. I mean wasting my life. Living a mediocre life, going to the same job everyday for 10+ years, not traveling and seeing what’s out there in the world, just going about my daily routine every single day. I don’t want to be like that. When I was younger, I used to believe that you work as hard as you can and when you retire, that’s when you start to have fun. Not anymore. Life is far too short to think like that. I am now exploring what I am passionate about, which is helping people, and creating.

Places I want to visit

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio on Pexels.com

Now I know there is a whole virus going on in the world today, but a girl can image right? I’m not like a world traveler, but I’ve been blessed to have seen quite a few places. Below are the places I want to explore one day. Comment your favorites!

Africa

I have always wanted to go on a true African safari. To see the animals in their natural habitat, living life plus the culture there is amazing. I like learning new things, so when the movie Black Panther came out, and I saw the different tribes, I wanted to know if they were real and they are. Each one of the different tribes represents something specific to them. I found that to be so interesting and would love to see that in real life. I also have a thing for nature and beautiful landscapes since I do live in a busy city area. I feel like it is so peaceful and calming there.

Washington D.C

Now, I know what you may thinking and it is now for that reason. I want to go to Washington D.C. because of the many museums they have. As I mentioned before, I love learning new things, so museums excite me because there are so many new things to learn and explore. One place I want to see in particular is the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. I have never heard of this place until I watched Night of the museum 2 I believe. It looked so cool and huge! One day I will be there.

New York City

Oh New York. I am not gonna lie, I’ve been wanting to go to New York ever since Home Alone. It has always seem like a very big place with SO much to do. From plays, to shopping, to different monuments to explore. Especially time square. All the lights and attractions. Oh , don’t forget about the subways. I know they are not the ideal transportation and all that exciting, but for someone who isn’t from there, it is. Can’t wait to visit here

Las Vegas

Last but not least, Las Vegas. Similar to New York, all the lights and attractions have drawn my attention to explore all of what’s its about. One of my favorite movies Step Up All In, made it even more real for me. Seeing them having fun roaming the streets of Vegas was my dream for my friends and I and I cannot wait to do that with them. Plus hitting up the casino wouldn’t hurt too much would it?
