What do I hate most about the dating world?

OK, so this is an excellent topic Because in today’s age. The “talking stage” versus dating has gone into one group. People don’t separate those two terms and to be honest with you, I never really understood the “talking stage”. I felt like during the talking stage we are still technically friends or becoming friends, so. And potentially that friendship can become a relationship, but I never understood that term of oh, I’m talking to so and so. So I’m kind of off limits. I don’t know. I’m still confused about that term, but anyways. This actually brings me to my first point of one of the things that I hate about the dating stage is that there’s no more actually getting to know people.

There’s like a surface level type of getting to know someone. What I mean by that is, they always start off with the basic questions, favorite colors, favorite thing to eat, what you don’t like to eat, favorite thing to do? Hobbies, what do you do for work? Those kind of questions are like very service level is what I call them versus deeper questions such as, what are your goals? Future, present, whatever. What are your views on this particular thing? And I’m not saying that you have to talk about this at the beginning, of course not, you just do simple fun things in the beginning. But if it’s become in my opinion it’s become more than a week two weeks you should start developing into more deeper conversations not just I don’t like seafood at week two. No, that’s that’s ridiculous. Especially at my age now that’s not gonna cut it. There should be more to the conversation other than just Likes and dislikes.

Another thing I don’t like about the dating world in today’s time is that people seem like they’re just dating to date for right now and not dating for a future. And now I know people are going to automatically assume I’m talking about marriage. I’m not talking about marriage because marriage is not in everybody’s mindset. I’m talking more of if you are going to meeting someone, and actually want to be in a relationship, that a long term relationship is something I want.

I was most recently speaking to this guy and we were just talking about life and all the craziness going on in the world and about past relationships and things that went wrong and what could have been changed things like that. And he was talking about his recent relationship. And he mentioned that he was talking to this girl. But had no true intentions of being with her like seeing a life with her. And so me being me, I said that and I was like, so you were talking to her and chilling with her and things like that and you didn’t see a future with her? He’s like no, I didn’t even see a whole month with her. And in my head I’m like. So what’s the point? Why would you waste her time and your time talking to each other. And not see anything beyond a month. That’s crazy. Dating isn’t just a game. It should mean so much more than that because you’re trying to find a partner, a best friend, Someone who. You know will be there for you besides family. If you can include family, but that’s a whole other conversation. I just feel like don’t don’t date me because you’re bored if you’re bored, go outside, go to the park, play basketball. Don’t date me because you’re bored.

One last thing I hate about Dating in today’s Time is that, When you’re dating someone and you are boyfriend and girlfriend, It doesn’t seem as genuine anymore. It seems. Not for all, but for most for like. For the show. What I mean by that is. It’s not coming from a place where your significant other is actually invested into the relationship. Actually invested in getting to know you. People want to be boyfriend and girlfriend but don’t want to either one give each other that title or two actually know what that title means. So for instance, most guys want a girlfriend But a Wife at the same time. So it’s like it feels like their rushing it. They want a girlfriend to be their friend, hang out, whatever but they also want say the Cleaning, cooking and the sexual things to. Financial stability, living together, all of the things together to me scream wife. And if a boyfriend gets all of those things now, what makes you think he will put a ring on your finger.

I feel like today’s age when people hear boyfriend girlfriend, They just hear friend. They don’t understand that a boyfriend/girlfriend can potentially turn into a life partner. And I think that’s what scares some of the new generation. A lot of this new generation can’t really see themselves with someone for the rest of their lives. Just one person. And so they venture out and have fun. As much as they can, even with a title attached sometimes and then expect the other party to be OK with it. Millennials are still trying to find that special Spark, special connection and it is getting scarier and scarier from all the social media and things you see online And not really many choices out there. Not saying they aren’t out there, but I’m just saying it is just seems almost gone and you have to pretty be a detective to find your special someone.

Now, I’m not saying give up dating at all. Of course not. Of course, continue to find your partner, but all I’m saying is, be careful. When you do online and in person.

So yeah guys. So those were my three things that I do not like about the dating world in this time. And I hope you enjoy the read. Comment below what are your opinions on dating in today’s time?

Let’s talk about Fiverr

Hey! Welcome to my blog journal. Today I am sharing with you my experience with the program Fiverr.

Forever Written uses affiliate links to earn a small commission when you make a purchase through my site. Every little penny helps. You can learn more here.

What is Fiverr?

Fiverr is an online program where you can find and hire someone to help you get more done with your business.

If you own a flower shop, and need help creating business cards, you can hire a graphic design freelancer to help you create the cards of your dreams. Or if you have a YouTube channel, you can hire someone to help you edit your videos.

The Concept

When first going to Fiverr, I was very impressed at how diverse the program is. They have any and every category you can think of. From graphic design, to freelance writing, to even finding a personal stylists. It is very easy to navigate through to locate the best gig for you.

Once you find the category you want, there are many sub categories to break down even more exactly what you may be looking for. So for example, under Music and Audio, you can find some sub categories such as: Voice over, Online Music Lessons, or Podcast editing. Then once you click on the sub category for instance “Voice over”, a list of freelancers will pop up showcasing how they can help you put voice overs onto your videos.

In each gig, the freelancer details exactly how and what they can do to help you. Videos and images are there to give you a visual of their work and experience. They also set different price points (yes some are more than $5) based off of the amount of work needed to be done. You can also see their ratings and comments from other businesses who have used their services in the past. There are also filters at the top of each sub category, so you can only view what’s best for you.

When you have found the gig and freelancer you want to work with, you simply select the price point best for you, follow and provide any qualifications needed from the freelancer to begin working on your project, and once completed, the freelancer will reach out to you for confirmation and if any further information is needed. Please note that you are not charged for the gig until you approve the work completed by the freelancer.

Sounds complicated? It’s not! As long as communication is made on both parties, it is a very smooth process.

As a Freelancer

As a freelancer for Fiverr, I’ve experienced a lot of different types of businesses and how vast the world really is.

When becoming a freelancer, the process is fairly easy by just signing up and entering in details about yourself and what you have to offer. Then you get started on creating your gigs. Once you have your gigs created, just promote and begin working on help businesses succeed.

Being a freelancer, I like the fact that I was able to create up to 7 gigs using different categories as I saw fit. One gig can be on your graphic design skills, while another can illustrate how awesome you are at being a virtual assistant. I also enjoyed how thorough you have to be in explaining why someone should choose your gig. Can’t just say, “I know how to draw, hire me”, you have to put some meaning and details behind your work.

Another thing I enjoy being a freelancer on Fiverr is that I can set my own rates of what I feel is best. Being that it is in it’s name, every gig starts off at $5, but you can adjust it to whatever price point suits you best even up to $100 or more. You can also negotiate and create an offer template that would work for you and the client so it’s a win win for everyone.

Once you are all set up, you have your own profile where you can view all of your gigs and its stats and the ratings you have received. There is also a place where you can take tests and receive badges to showcase all that you know and have experience in. The tests are optional, but is a good thing to have on your profile.

Getting Paid

So let’s say you connected with a client and have completed the gig. Once the client approves your work, you will receive your pay (minus the fee from Fiverr), into a waiting bucket. Fiverr’s fee can vary upon the price point. I suggest setting the gigs that require a lot of time and work at a higher price so your fee won’t take much of your money away. For example, one of my gigs, I set the price point to $10 and received an available balance of $8.

The waiting bucket time varies by what level you are on as a seller. The higher level you are, the less time your pay is in the waiting bucket. The longest time the pay is in the waiting bucket is approximately 2 weeks. From there, it will move to the available bucket where you can cash out, and is then transferred to either your PayPal account, a Fiverr Revenue card, or via direct deposit which is very convenient. Payment is then deposited into the payment method of your choice right away. No more waiting.

In the end

In the end, I highly recommend using Fiverr to either expand your freelancing skills or to hire some help to keep your business running smoothly. It is overall a good program to get things done.

It should work both ways

Photo by Avonne Stalling on Pexels.com

Now this post kind of ties into one of my previous posts, “Should a man have to pay for every date?” piggy backing off of that, In my opinion, I feel as though guys like to be spoiled and have surprises too. It almost seems as though, especially in my generation that a guy is expected to pay for his girls hair, nails, food, etc. which is nothing wrong with it, but why all the time? Why can’t a girl say no babe, I got it. You buy what you want. Or better yet, you buy it for him. Like if he pays for your hair and nails, a girl can pay for his haircut and some shoes. Or a game for his game system. Just like when a guy sends his girl “just because flowers” on a Wednesday, I will send him a “just because lunch” on a Tuesday. I feel like if you well into your relationship, it should be 50/50, not 70/30 or 80/20. Hopefully it is not 90/10. Whenever I get into a real relationship, my bf will be as spoiled as he spoils me. No don’t think I am saying its all about the physical gifts because it’s definitely not, just a thought. That’s all.

3 words that describes me

Who am I? What makes me unique? What makes me different? I mean, I know I’m a special person to some, but does it qualify me as being “unique”? Today, I am in good spirits, so lets write about what makes me, me.

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio on Pexels.com

According to Oxford Languages, an introvert is “a shy, reticent person”. I am a huge introvert. I wouldn’t say I’m necessarily shy but I prefer to stay to myself and not be bothered. I am just as content being alone. It is my most happy place, besides being with my mom. Give me a quiet, dark room, with a good movie and some snacks and yeah I’m set. Won’t see me unless I need some more snacks. I also like quiet. I think that comes from my different situations having to share my space with multiple people. I am never able to get time by myself unless I leave the house and go stay at a hotel. But who has money to be doing that often. Most of my family knows that I am a quiet person but also think I am mean and rude when I don’t make conversation and engage when they are playing a game or watching a movie. First, I have nothing to say to you at that moment and I either do not want to play the game or already seen the movie. Sorry not Sorry.

As we all know by now, I love to help people succeed and get to the next level. Friends, family, co-workers, I do not care, I will support you in the fullest. Being able to be that resource and guide them in the right direction to their dreams. It puts a smile on my face to see them smile. I often get called their personal therapist, giving them the advice to get them to that next step, next level. I knew I should have studied psychology in college.

Cool monkey

Even though I am a quiet person, and don’t really talk to too many people, when I do my answers and conversation is as honest as ever. I will tell you like it is especially if you ask for my opinion. I do not sugarcoat or hold back. I think that’s why I lost a lot of friends. So glad my best friends knows me and understand my personality because I am the captain of saying no. Like I said, I prefer to be home in my own bubble. Now don’t get me wrong, I do go out, however I can’t do it all the time especially if it is to nowhere important or fun. My social meter can only take but so much.

Should a man have to pay for every date?

Photo by Evelina Zhu on Pexels.com

I know I might get some backlash for this but in my opinion, I do not believe a man should have to pay for EVERY single date. In the beginning, yes he should be a gentleman and take care of the first few dates. However, I feel like if you are well into your relationship, the woman could pick up the tab or at least half of it. Take the pressure off of your man for once and spoil him. Now most men don’t mind paying for the tab, and sometimes get offended when their woman wants to pay, which is a great thing, but every once in a while won’t hurt especially if the bill is only a couple of dollars. I would love to take my man out on a date, let him order anything he wants, and say “no babe, I have got it this time. My treat” I know he may not like it, but it will put a smile on his face in the end because it’s the little things that counts.

Pet Peeves

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio on Pexels.com

Pet Peeves. According to Oxford Languages, “pet peeves is something that a particular finds annoying”. Boy do I have a lot of things that annoy me, but today I am going to tell you all about my top 3. First up. Snoring.

I cannot stand someone who snores. When I go to sleep, I just want to lay down, in some peace and quiet, not in a loud voice sounding like a bear. I don’t know why, but it just irritates me. Makes me cringe and lay there awake staring at the ceiling or the wall. Mind you that the person is in another room and I can still hear it! That’s crazy lol. No snoring for me. Reason is because I like peace and quiet since I can’t get it during the day and if I can’t get it at night either, WOW. Just WOW!

Chewing too loud

Why do people have to chew their food so loud that someone in another country can hear it?! Oh, that is so annoying. Close your mouth! Nobody wants to see and hear how your teeth chew your food. I understand the food may be good, but I don’t want to hear the goodness. Keep that to yourself. Reason is because I find that to be very disgusting. I literally stare at the person until we make eye contact lol.  What’s the reason you want everyone to know you are eating?

Touching my things without my permission

OMG! Do not touch my things without my permission. That pisses me off to the max. Especially since I would never touch someone’s things without their permission. I feel like it would be reciprocated, but I guess not. Reason this irritates me so much is because, once before my old laptop was being used without me knowing and when I got home from work, it was broken and nobody knew what happened or how. Really?! Nobody knows what happened. Before I left, it was in great standing, now the keys are missing, and the screen is half black. SMH. Don’t touch my things. Simple.

What am I afraid of?

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio on Pexels.com

This is one of those questions where you can think of it on a more deep level or right on the surface level. For me, most of my fears do not come from the physical level, but from something deeper. Comment below if you can relate to any of these or what your fears are

I’m going to start with a surface level fear which is Reptiles. Any reptile for that matter, especially lizards. I just think they are extremely slimy looking, and just ugh gives me the creeps. Another would be a snake. I’ve never had a close encounter with a snake, however, if I did, I would just give up lol. No way im fighting my way out.

Something else I am afraid of is Cats. Yeah, I know this may sound silly, but I truly am afraid of cats. It’s like you never know when and how to approach them, and they attack for any reason. They scratch you for whatever reason, they knock stuff off the table for whatever reason, they are just rude. People say maybe I’ve had some bad experiences with cats and they all aren’t like that but until I see that as proof, I am not a cat person. (Dogs rule)

This is where things get deep. Another thing I am afraid of is not living or succeeding to my full potential. And no I don’t mean failure. I mean wasting my life. Living a mediocre life, going to the same job everyday for 10+ years, not traveling and seeing what’s out there in the world, just going about my daily routine every single day. I don’t want to be like that. When I was younger, I used to believe that you work as hard as you can and when you retire, that’s when you start to have fun. Not anymore. Life is far too short to think like that. I am now exploring what I am passionate about, which is helping people, and creating.

Places I want to visit

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio on Pexels.com

Now I know there is a whole virus going on in the world today, but a girl can image right? I’m not like a world traveler, but I’ve been blessed to have seen quite a few places. Below are the places I want to explore one day. Comment your favorites!

I have always wanted to go on a true African safari. To see the animals in their natural habitat, living life plus the culture there is amazing. I like learning new things, so when the movie Black Panther came out, and I saw the different tribes, I wanted to know if they were real and they are. Each one of the different tribes represents something specific to them. I found that to be so interesting and would love to see that in real life. I also have a thing for nature and beautiful landscapes since I do live in a busy city area. I feel like it is so peaceful and calming there.

Washington D.C

Now, I know what you may thinking and it is now for that reason. I want to go to Washington D.C. because of the many museums they have. As I mentioned before, I love learning new things, so museums excite me because there are so many new things to learn and explore. One place I want to see in particular is the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. I have never heard of this place until I watched Night of the museum 2 I believe. It looked so cool and huge! One day I will be there.

New York City

Oh New York. I am not gonna lie, I’ve been wanting to go to New York ever since Home Alone. It has always seem like a very big place with SO much to do. From plays, to shopping, to different monuments to explore. Especially time square. All the lights and attractions. Oh , don’t forget about the subways. I know they are not the ideal transportation and all that exciting, but for someone who isn’t from there, it is. Can’t wait to visit here

Las Vegas

Last but not least, Las Vegas. Similar to New York, all the lights and attractions have drawn my attention to explore all of what’s its about. One of my favorite movies Step Up All In, made it even more real for me. Seeing them having fun roaming the streets of Vegas was my dream for my friends and I and I cannot wait to do that with them. Plus hitting up the casino wouldn’t hurt too much would it?

What do I need to let go of?

Photo by medium photoclub on Pexels.com

There is a lot of things I need to let go of but the main thing I need to let go of is things I cannot control. I am a very controlling person of my things and how things go when it comes down to the things I love. I have to be on top of it all because I feel like if I’m not, I will lose it and I don’t want to.

But as I got older and life goes on, I am beginning to learn that no matter how much it may pain you, there are things you cannot control. You just have to be grateful for the situation you are in and keep it moving until it gets better. For me, I see it as a motivational thing. I dislike it so much, that I have to do and be better to change it. That’s just it.

Another thing I need to let go of are sweating the small stuff. I tend to let the little things get to me and later after I calm down, I realize that it was not that big of a deal to begin with or it wasn’t my major concern. For instance, when someone gives me something as a gift, and we have a small falling out and that person wants whatever they gave me back, I get really upset, but then realize it is yes technically mine now because it was a gift but I didn’t spend my money on it so why am I making a huge fuss about it. Just give it back. Simple.

Something else I need to let go of and is kind of a hard one is my past. Nothing bad really happened in my past, however there were a lot of mistakes made that I am still holding on to which isn’t allowing me to progress into my future. I get afraid I am going to do it again, so I either just don’t do it, or I do it half assed which isn’t fair to myself or the opportunity. I also tend to use it as an excuse to get out of doing things or why I couldn’t do something. It’s called past for a reason which is where it should stay. You live and learn and it is up to me to use that and improve my situation and now to keep making excuses for it.

6 things that makes me happy

So what makes me happy? It doesn’t take a lot to make me happy because I appreciate anything given to me so lets begin.

Music 🎧🎼

When I listen to music, I feel like all my problems are gone and I am free. I am a millennial so yes I do tend to put my music louder than needed but I feel like I have to. It creates a more amazing experience. There is no particular song or genre that gets me hyped, I just turn on my Pandora radio and jam out like no one is watching.

Movies 🎬🎞

When I tell you I LOVE watching movies. I have a lot of favorite movies but the ones I can always rewatch are any Marvel movies and Transformers movies. They will never get old for me. My family hates movie nights because we try to find a movie that no one has even and every list or genre Ive seen most of those movies. I get asked all the time why I love movies so much and honestly I do not know. I guess because they give me so much peace and puts me at ease after a long day. Plus I do not like commercials unless it is a TV show. Watching movies with commercials are so frustrating to me especially if it a new movies I’ve never seen. I want to know what happens next not wait after 30 commercials lol. I guess that’s why I do not like watching so many tv shows (unless its Spongebob) until the have all aired and I can binge watch.

Dogs 🐶

I love doggies especially the little small ankle biters lol. It is so weird because when I was younger I was so scared of dogs but I having family members with dogs around me made it easier to overcome my fear and love dogs now.

Food 🍕🍟🍗🍦

Haha, who doesn’t love food like come on. When I eat I start doing my happy dance especially if it is something I’ve been craving for a while. My favorites are hot wings, fruit, ice cream, pastries, salad, and fries. Lol, yes I know a lot of favorites and all different but I definitely enjoy them.

Video games 🎮

It may sound weird to some, but yes I love video games and I’m a girl. I not a full on gamer girl, but I do not mind playing a game every now and then. That probably came from me frowning up with mostly boys around me. I like playing the good ol’ Mario Kart of course, killing zombies or weird creatures, racing games , and ill dab a little into basketball. And I cannot forget the little games we all play on our phones to pass time.

My Mommy 👩🏽‍🦱

Oh mommy. My mother is the most sweetest, calmest, understanding person in the world. She sees the good in everybody and every situation. I wish I had some of that in me. Whenever I am in a bad mood and need some up lifting, I go right to my mother and can tell her any and everything without her judging me, plus putting a huge smile on my face in the end. I love my mommy 🙂
